Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare

My newest read is a book written by Cassandra Clare. She's is the author of the Mortal Instruments series, including City of Bones, City of Ashes, City of Glass, and on April 5th, City of Fallen Angels.
I had already read her first three books before this, and quickly fell in love with the story, the characters, and Clare's writing style.
This book does not fail to please! It has a plot that pulls you in straight from the beginning. It follows the story of Tessa Gray, a girl who travels to England to find her brother, Nathaniel. However, she is kidnapped by two sisters: the Dark Sisters. It is then she discovers that she is not human. She is what they call a Downworlder, with the special ability to transform into other people. She is thrown into the world of the Shadowhunters. The Shadowhunters keep the peace, and as their title suggests, hunt the demons of the world.
She is saved from the Dark Sisters by an unlikely hero: Will Herondale. Tall, dark, and handsome with a sarcastic and witty side, he is easy to fall in love with from page one. As the story continues, we find that he has many secrets to hide, and not much to reveal.
Will takes her back to the Institute where other Shadowhunters are gathered. She stays there for a while, unsure of where to go, and what to do with this new power. Here at the Institute she meets James, or Jem, Carstairs, a silver haired boy who is sick, and a prim girl named Jessamine. Running the institute is a couple, Charlotte and Henry. They tell Tessa that they will help her find her brother, and that is, as one says, the beginning of the end.
This book contains characters that provide humor, dark secrets, and a certain charisma that will make you love them. I personally have fallen for Jem. His kind spirit and loyalty to Tessa and Will have proven to me that he is one to be respected.
Also popular as Tessa's romantic interest is of course, Will Herondale. As a fan once said, "Will is Jace's dark side on crack". And it's true! All throughout the book, Will is keeping secrets. Lies come out of his mouth almost every time he speaks, and you never know what is true, and what's not. Still, one cannot help but be enthralled by him, wondering what he is talking about, and what he is hiding.
This is a perfect prequel to the Mortal Instruments series, and I highly recommend those as well. Perhaps I'll review those next...
Cassandra Clare out did herself with this book, and I think I speak for everyone when I say that Clockwork Prince is highly anticipated.
